Daughters Are The Liveliness Of Your Home! Do not consider them less than anyone

Ubqari Magazine - November 2018

(Tahira Jabeen Tara)

Girls spend their lives drinking the poison this society offers to them. The society tries every possible way to take away their light from them. I am very disheartened to say this truth but this is necessary and you too, will agree with me on the fact that they are not given their complete rights in terms of property. Yes, we live in a society who only offers them cruelty, pain and some never healing wounds. However, they still live on because they know how we owe this life to Allah and they fear losing the only piece of land that is confirmed for them; their grave’s. No-one tries to notice the tears residing in their eyes just because they always have a smile on their faces. I have seen it with my own eyes how this society makes lives difficult for a woman. A newly wed bride came into our neighborhood. After some time her husband died and she became a widow. Everyone in the society blamed that woman, as if she was responsible for becoming a widow. She was named as a jinxed and unlucky woman. In the same way, the community blames the woman even if that is the cost she pays foe the sins of hr loved ones. The woman still becomes a target of this world when a man marries another woman and gives divorce to the first one. Even then, it is not the man who is at fault but the woman who was not able to conduct her duties well enough. With a life like this, a woman still lives on with some rays of hope and tries to find peace in Sujood. What is even worse that now these girls have to display themselves in their homes as well. In order to fulfill the demand of men, his mother and sisters come in order to check out the girl as if she is some goat that is here to be sold. The woman is ‘selected’ for marriage if fulfills all the requirements of the man and his family and if she is rejected, the parents become more weaker. The mother of that daughter starts having sleepless nights, worrying about her daughter’s future. Although the rest of the family might not say anything to her, but the way they look at her communicates how badly they just want her to get married off so they can get rid of her. The characteristics, education, personality, fasts and prayers all stand questioning the society. Still, the girl is blamed that she was not able to fulfill the standards of the man. I wish these men could send all of their demands and standard directly to Allah so that Allah could ask them how capable are they themselves to question his creation like this. No-one asks the girl about her demands, likes or dislikes. This society has placed women as the secondary being and instead of considering them as humans, they are combined in the category of animals. I am not able to explain the pain they suffer from after they are married. Readers! You yourself are well aware of how women are treated after marriage and if you are unaware of such incidents then you should consult the magazines or newspapers for it since they all are filled up with such news. Just to keep all the property to themselves, some people marry off their younger daughters and sisters to a much elderly man who inflicts then inflicts countless scars on the soul of that woman. This is because he becomes complexed and suffocatingly protective over her young wife. These devilish deeds are only progressing in our society because of property and ego issues because none of this was taught by Islam. Women were always given a hit esteemed position in Islam. I am questioning this so called educated society though the foundation of Ubqari, that what is the fault of that woman if a she has become a widow, or is divorced, if dowry is not sufficient or in case a man rejects her for marriage? Why do we turn her life into hell? Why is she not given her complete right to live the way she wants to. Allah says in Quran Surah Ali ‘Imran: And their Lord responded to them, "Never will I allow to be lost the work of [any] worker among you, whether male or female; you are of one another.

No culture or religion gave such a high position to women other than Islam. Hazrat Muhammad () told Sahabs that paradise lies underneath the feet of a mother which increased the value of women eventually. Islam did not just worked to give woman a higher rank on societal basis but it also helped women to get their complete rights also in turns of properties. Hazrat Muhammad () said that if any women wants to look at her value, no matter what in which age or time, she can look at these personalities and have an idea.

“There are four most respected and highest women, Hazrat Maryam Bint Imran (علیہ السلام), (Ameer ul Momineen) Hazrat Khadija (رضی اللہ عنھا), Hazrat Fatima (رضی اللہ عنھا) and the wife of firo’un, Aasiya (علیہ السلام).

By signaling towards them, the four most perfect personality were put up as an example for everyone. If someone is able to make up such a character like them then definitely, Allah and His Prophet () will be happy for her. However, if they are unable to convince Allah and make Him happy, then what kind of luck is this? A perfect mother’s character, Hazrat Maryam (علیہ السلام). A perfect character of a wife, Hazrat Khadija (رضی اللہ عنھا). A perfect character of a daughter, Hazrat Fatima (رضی اللہ عنھا). A perfect character of a woman, Hazrat Aasiya (علیہ السلام). Every woman can focus and think over these esteemed personalities and try to find her own self peace within her personality. What was their life, those secrets, that made them Khair Un Nisa?
